Emerald Prime and Store Sale Market Report – 23/07/2026
Emerald Combined Agents yarded 1,962 head at today’s Prime and Store Sale. Cattle were drawn from local and surrounding districts, with consignments also travelling from Collinsville and Nebo. Prime cattle again made up the majority of the yarding. All regular meatworks buyers were in attendance and operating in a firm to slightly stronger prime market, with increases recorded across selected categories, in particular medium-weight cows and across the bull categories. Bullocks over 500kg reached a top of 417c/kg to average 409.2 c/kg. Heavy cows remained well supplied with those over 520kg selling to a top of 364.2c/kg to average 351.9c/kg, whilst cows 450–520kg reached a top of 360c/kg to average 330.8c/kg. Store cows this week sold to a top of 286.2c/kg. Heavy prime heifers to process reached a top of 401c/kg. Heavy bulls over 600 kg selling to a top of 408.2c/kg whilst bulls 450 – 600 kg sold to a top of 408.2 to average 366.2c/kg. Emerald once again saw a very mixed quality store offering come to hand, this is largely due to the up and coming Weaner and feeder sale being just under a fortnight away. Feeder steers sold to a top of 512.2c/kg, averaging 395.4c/kg. A mixed-quality offering of weaner steers reached 496.2c/kg, to average generally in the low-to-mid 400c/kg range. Feeder heifers topped at 450.2c/kg, while weaner heifers reached 432.2c/kg and averaged in the high 300c/kg range. Only limited numbers of cows and calves were offered, selling to a top of $1,850 per unit and averaging $1,700.

Raymond Cattle Company “Raymond” Springsure – Sold Santa Gertrudis prime heifers making 390.2c/kg weighing 564.4kg to return $2219.40/head. They also sold Santa Gertrudis cows making 351.2c/kg weighing 696 kg to return $2445.23/head.
Alan & Julie Hay “Blairgowrie” Jericho – Sold Brahman cross cows topping atv364.2c/kg weighing 605kg to return $2203.41/head. They also sold 4 tooth prime Brahman heifers making 385.2c/kg weighing 492.5 kg to return $1897.11/head.
Bruce & Sandy Ryan “Moola” Anakie – Sold Brangus Bullocks making 397.2c/kg weighing 610kg to return $2422.92/head.
OlderFleet Cattle Company “Olderfleet” Mt Coolan – Sold Brahman Feeder steers making 440.2 weighing 452kg to return $1989.70/head.
