Emerald Prime & Store Sale Market Report – 08/10/2026
Emerald Combined Agents yarded 1,096 head at today’s Prime and Store Sale. Recent rainfall throughout the local and surrounding areas brought some renewed confidence to the market, with strong competition evident across both the prime and store sections. Cattle were drawn from all local and surrounding districts, with a mixed offering presented. The prime section saw limited numbers of heavy cattle come to hand, with the better-finished descriptions meeting strong competition from the usual panel of meatworks buyers. Bullocks over 500kg topped at 484.2c/kg to average 438.9c/kg, while heavy local cows reached 386.2c/kg to average 369c/kg. Heavy prime heifers to process sold to a top of 410 c/kg, while heavy bulls reached 400.2c/kg to average 352c/kg. The store section was mixed in quality, although a stronger market was evident across most descriptions. The recent change in seasonal conditions helping lift buyer confidence, with better-quality lines well supported and general increase seen across the store market. Feeder steers topped at 498.2c/kg to average 464c/kg, while weaner steers in the 200–280kg weight range reached 560.2c/kg to average 515c/kg.
