Emerald Prime & Store Sale Market Report – 9/07/2026
Emerald Combined Agents saw 1,270 head come to hand for today’s Prime & Store Sale. Cattle were drawn from local and surrounding areas, with one consignment making the trip down from Richmond. Prime cattle once again dominated the yarding at this week’s Prime & Store Sale, largely due to the Weaner & Feeder Sale being held earlier in the week. All regular meatworks buyers were in attendance however competition remained selective throughout the offering, with prime cows showing an improvement on the previous week. Bullocks over 500kg reached a top of 418.2c/kg to average 390c/kg, while a few pens of heavy feeder steers over 500kg fell into this category, topping at 492.2c/kg. Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 360.2c/kg to average 349.2c/kg, while cows weighing 450–520kg sold to a top of 359.2c/kg to average 332.6c/kg. Heavy prime heifers reached a top of 388.2c/kg, while a few pens of heavy feeder heifers also fell into this category, topping at 494.2c/kg. The store yarding was mixed in quality, type and supply due to the July Weaner & Feeder Sale being held on Tuesday, making it difficult to quote against. Feeder steers reached 492.2c/kg to average 349c/kg, while a very limited offering of weaner steers topped at 462.2c/kg to average in the mid-$3.00 range. Feeder heifers sold to an isolated top of 494.2c/kg for a pen of British Cross PTE heifers, while a very mixed offering of weaner heifers topped at 386.2c/kg to average 340c/kg.

Reklaw Cattle Company “Reklaw Park” Clermont – Sold Droughtmaster cows topping the market at 360.2c/kg weighing 576.5 kg to return $2076/head.
C & S Moger Capella – Sold Braford cows making 342.2 c/kg weighing 633.6 kg to return $2168.30/head.
