Emerald Weaner & Feeder Sale Market Report – 04/08/2026
The Emerald August feature weaner & feeder sale today saw 5609 head penned. The last feature sale of the year saw a mixed quality offering with more lightweight and lesser conditioned cattle penned compared to previous sales. Cattle were drawn from all local regions with the inclusion of lines from Aramac, Jericho, Nebo & Baralaba. The mixed yarding met with a reduced panel of buyers with the change of season and the increasing supply of cattle across the state putting pressure on the market. Feeder steers topped at 528.2c/kg to average 467c/kg whilst weaner steers topped at a very isolated 552.2c/kg to average 433c/kg. Feeder heifers topped at an isolated 456.2c/kg to average 392c/kg whilst a large supply of weaner heifers reaching a very isolated 416.2c/kg to average 332c/kg.

The lead of the steers a pen of charolais steers topped at 510.2c/kg weighing 390 kg to return $1992.21/head. The lead of the heifers a pen of charolais heifers topped at 450.2 weighing 370kg to return $1665.74.
