Emerald Weaner & Feeder Sale Market Report – 07/07/2026
The July Emerald feature weaner & feeder cattle sale today saw 5904 head penned. The yarding was a great representation of the very good quality our region has to offer. Cattle were drawn mostly from the local region, with the inclusion of lines from Jericho & Bowen. A large panel of feedlot and restocker buyers were present with cattle heading back to all local areas as well as west to Winton and even back into northern NSW. The premiums today that were noticeable were for the softer British & Euro breed types and weight was king. Feeder steers topped at 554.2c/kg to average 523c/kg whilst weaner steers topped at 610.2c/kg to average 549c/kg. Feeder heifers reached an isolated top of 518.2c/kg to average 442c/kg, whilst weaner heifers reached 478.2c/kg to average 400c/kg.

Cody & Sharyn Hay “Blairgowrie” Jericho – Sold Santa feeder steers topping at 526.2c/kg weighing 475 kgs to return $2,499/head.
Ted & Gai Sypher and family “Veronica Downs” Capella – Sold a line of Angus weaner steers topping at 594.2c/kg weighing 307 kgs to return $1,829/head.
Michael & Kellianne Hoch “Vinabel” Alpha – Sold Angus x weaner steers weighing 279 kgs which made 590.2c/kg to return $1,647/head.
Spelta Pastoral “Bella Vista” Yamala – Sold Santa/Simmental x weaner steers weighing 260 kgs which made 604.2c/kg to return $1,574/head. Their weaner heifers topped at 478.2c/kg weighing 240 kgs to return $1,147/head.
Scott & Wendy Eckhardt “Bellevue” Clermont – Sold Braford x weaner steers weighing 332 kgs which made 552.2c/kg to retrun $1,837/head.
Gabe Hoch “Saltbush” Alpha – Sold Charolais x weaner steers weighing 250 kgs which made 594.2c/kg to return $1,485/head. His weaner heifers weighed 252 kgs and made 472.2c/kg to return $1,193/head.
Ian & Lorraine O’Shannessy “Bellevue” Clermont – Sold a very good quality line of Red Brahman weaner steers weighing 262 kgs which made 548.2c/kg to return $1,441/head.
