Emerald Weaner & Feeder Sale Market Report

The first Emerald feature weaner & feeder store sale for 2026 saw a total yarding of 2624 head penned. The yarding saw some very good quality offerings of cattle from all local regions with the inclusion of lines from Aramac & Nebo. A large panel of local restockers competed strongly over the younger section of the yarding, whilst a limited yet active panel of local and southern feedlotters were selective in their competition.
Feeder steers 400-500 kgs reached 466.2c/kg to average 427c/kg, whilst weaner steers sold extremely well topping at 558.2c/kg to average around the $5/mark. Feeder heifers were limited in supply reaching a top of 400.2c/kg to average 369c/kg, whilst weaner heifers reached a top of 422.2c/kg to average around the 380c/kg mark. Overall a healthy sale throughout which was very well supported from both vendors and buyers.

Reklaw Cattle Company “Reklaw Park” Clermont – Sold a run of Droughtmaster feeder steers, with the lead pen making 438.2 c/kg weighing 480.8 kg to return $2107/head.
Paradise Pastoral Group “The Springs” Aramac – Sold a run of Charolais, Droughtmaster, Angus & Braford cross Feeder steers with the lead pen of Charolais cross steers making 450.2c/kg weighing 460 kg to return $2070/head
Alisha Hoch “Lake Huffer” Aramac – Sold a run of Charolais, Droughtmaster, Angus & Braford cross Feeder steers with the lead pen of Charolais cross steers making 448.2 c/kg weighing 470.8 kg to return $2110/head
GH, MS & SJ Saunders “Medway Park” Bogantungan – Sold Droughtmaster weaner steers making 476.2 c/kg weighing 376.5kg to return $1793/head.
I & LM O’Shannessy “Bellaree” Clermont – Sold Simmental cross weaner steers making 506.2 c/kg weighing 330.9kg to return $1675/head.
JC & JE Smith “Birraban” Springsure – Sold Santa Getrudis steers making 470 c/kg weighing 345kg to return $1621/head.
Chasford Grazing “Chasford” Moranbah – Consigned a line of Angus cross mixed sex weaners. The lead pen of steers sold to a top of 524.2c/kg weighing 311.3kg to return $1632.01, whilst their Angus cross weaner heifers sold to 422.2 c/kg weighing 300kgs to return $1269/head.
Danny & Leanne Jones “Brookeleigh” Springsure sold Brangus weaner steers which made 546.2c/kg weighing 223 kgs to return $1,219/head.
