Clermont Prime & Store Sale Market Report – 08/09/2026
The Clermont Prime & Store Sale recorded a yarding of 402 head today, with cattle drawn from Clermont and surrounding districts. The prime section presented a quality offering throughout, while the store yarding was mixed in type and quality. Prime cattle showed a considerable lift on the previous sale, while the store market was more variable, largely influenced by limited numbers and variation in type and quality.
Heavy bullocks were limited in numbers, topping at 440.2c/kg to average 435.1c/kg. The cow yarding was well presented, with a good selection of quality heavy cows on offer. Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 381.2c/kg to average 368.1c/kg, while cows 400–520kg sold to a top of 376.2c/kg to average 349.5c/kg. Heavy heifers to process over 400kg sold to a top of 409.2c/kg.
The store section was mixed in type and quality; however, better-quality weaners and feeders attracted healthy competition. Feeder steers 400–500kg were limited in numbers and topped at 410.2c/kg, while steers 300–400kg topped at 400.2c/kg. Weaner steers under 300kg sold to a top of 362.2c/kg to average 360c/kg.
Trade-weight heifers 300–400kg were well supported, topping at 410c/kg to average 371.6c/kg, while weaner heifers under 300kg topped at 286.2c/kg to average 250.7c/kg.
